Kelly

After seeing several Golden Retrievers, my husband Jim and I attended a dog show in Sacramento. As the minutes went by, we were introduced to a very beautiful male Golden named Beaumont. Beaumont would later be Kelly's Dad. We met Beaumont's part time owner at the dog show and, we started talking about our interest in the Golden Retriever breed. Upon talking to Tammy, we soon had her phone number and, we also took a picture or two of Beaumont. Jana kept in touch with Tammy, she had told Jana, one of the females (Casey) would probably be mated with Beaumont and puppies would be on the way! Tammy and Jana kept in close contact throughout the starting process, then one day Tammy called and told Jana, Casey is pregnant! Everything went very well, we did see the litter at the four or five week time frame then, Jim and Jana picked up their darling little girl. Kelly was born July 3rd, 1998. She is without a doubt, the very best dog Jana has ever owned. Jana has had several dogs through the years but, Kelly is the best. Kelly is Jim's very first dog and, he is ape about her as well. The Golden Retriever breed is the best. Kelly just turned 9 this past July 3rd. She is doing just wonderfully and, her Mom and Dad couldn't be happier!

Kelly passed away May 29, 2013, just a little over a month short of her 15th birthday. She was a wonderful girl and led a good life.

Kelly and Stick	The one toy Kelly has consistantly played with is her "stick", a hollow plastic toy about a foot long. She has had a series of sticks. When she was young, she used to chew them down to nubs. She LOVES her sticks!

"Is this good enough?"	Kelly at almost 5 years old. Just another day in and around the pool.

Quality time with Kelly	Kelly is a real love bear but only on her terms. It's been a long time since I've lifted her up on my lap like this.
"Much needed" beauty sleep with Mom's pillow	One thing a Golden does is sleep in a cute way. I often watch her sleep, they ARE just like babies.

Waiting patiently	Kelly wanted her Mom, Jana, to hurry up and go out with her. She's showing how much patience she has, not much when it involves the outdoors.
What's wrong with this picture?	I think Kelly won, getting to the couch first and taking the pillow. Three years later, she STILL does the same thing. It's HER couch.
More camera fun with Kelly	Just goofing around with Kelly and the camera. When she looked cute, Mom would take the picture.
PROFESSIONAL mattress tester	Checking out the mattress for comfort. Certified Kelly tested and approved.
Perfect timing	Kelly did not do this on command, her Mom, Jana, just caught her at the right second.
Want to get wet?	Kelly wanted ANYONE to come out and play with her. Jana had just gone in the house and this is the look she received. Jana did go back out, she felt guilty.
Lessons on engineering	Kelly getting some engineering tips from her Dad. She wanted to get up in the chair so, Dad picked her up. Periodically, Kelly wants to be in our laps.
The Goof	Just a few minutes of laying on the bed, it didn't last. She was out swimming.
Don't leave me	Kelly's Mom left the chair to go take a shower. Jana turned around and this is what she saw. Kelly doesn't like ANY door closed on her so, consequently, she doesn't really like someone taking a shower.
"La la land"	It was about 11:00, Kelly was really out of it. It was such a cute moment, Jana ran to get the camera and snapped a picture of her sleepy head baby Kelly. Kelly had NO idea her picture was taken and that, her foot was in mid air.
Bed partners	Kelly's Mom, Jana was still up so, Dad moved over and Kelly TOOK OVER. Mom moved Kelly over (like moving a truck) when she retired for the evening. Jana slept in the space left over.
Kelly's Tapestry	This picture was taken about 4 years before Jana knew this picture would be on a tapestry. The pictures was randomly taken. When Jana found out about the tapestry info later on, she decided to put Kelly's picture on it for display.
More swimming	Kelly swimming at almost 8 years old. She is an excellent swimmer and really enjoys herself.
Kong time	Kelly catching several seconds of t.v. then, wanting treats put into her Kong. She ended up winning and getting her treats.
THE KELLY/CODY STATUE	A very special friend of mine, Connie and her beautiful boy Cody, have this very same statue. Jana sent this picture to Connie and Cody, so we could see each others pictures.

Reindeer Kelly	Kelly did very well with this pose. Jana hasn't attempted to put anything on Kelly's head before. Being timid, Kelly did very well.
Tired from training	Kelly had enough engineer training for one day. She was ready for a nap. Dad could go for hours.
