From Dec. 27, 2006 through Jan. 5, 2007 I visited my sister and her husband. We took several local trips around Delaware, as well as a 3 day trip to Williamsburg, Virginia.
Chesapeake City |
Whenever I visit, we always manage to spend some time at Chesapeake City. It sits on the canal connecting the upper Chesapeake Bay to the upper Delaware Bay. |

We ate at a restaurant sitting on a small harbor connected to the canal. |

Carl & Gloria |
On Dec. 29 we visited Carl and Gloria, and their daughter and her husband in Red Lion. |
Delaware City |
On Dec. 30 we visited Delaware City. This is a shot of a civil war era star fort sitting on an island in the middle of the upper Delaware Bay as seen from Delaware City. We had taken a water taxi over the fort on a previous trip. |

New Castle |
We continued up the bay to New Castle. It has an extensive colonial era historical district as well as Bill and Mary Ann's favorite restaurant. |

Heading Toward Williamsburg |
On Jan. 2 we started out for Williamsburg. We stopped for a picnic lunch at a state park, just before the Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel going into Norfolk. |
Heading Toward Williamsburg |
The park had a breakwater consisting of sunk old ships. |
