Rogue River Trip

My friend Jeff invited me on his 2008 Rogue River trip. The trip consisted of 3 hard shell kayakers, 5 inflatable kayakers, and 3 people on 2 rafts. I drove up Oct. 18 and did a day hike on the way up. We set out on the river Oct. 19 and spent 2 nights at lodges on the river. Afterwards, I drove back along the coast.

Rainey Falls	Rainey Falls is the 1 rapid on the river that we could not run. We took a bit of time admiring the falls, and then took ran the chicken shoot on river right.

Black Bar Lodge	We arrived at Black Bar Lodge at the end of our first day on the river. Black Bar is the only lodge on this section of the river, and can only be reached by boat or a several hour drive an a dirt road.

Black Bar Lodge	The meals at Black Bar are served cafeteria style. The dinner at the end of a day on the river tastes very very good.

End of Mule Canyon	Mule Canyon is a narrow mile long inner canyon with swift and squirrely water. We all made it through without swimming, and pulled off into a small side canyon with a small water falls.

Blossom Bar	Blossom Bar is the last challenging rapid on our second day. It's a class 3 rapid with class 4 consequences if you screw up.

The Coast	This is a shot of the bay in Eureka. After this I followed highway 101 inland. I stopped at the Avenue of The Giants, and then headed for home.
