Sequoia and King's Canyon Trip

I drove down to Fresno on Monday May 18, 2015. I stopped at a few towns along route 99 and stayed the night in Fresno. The next day I drove to the Sequoia National Parks and spent the day. That evening I drove into the King's Canyon park and into the canyon. I spent the next 2 nights in the Cedar Grove Hotel at the head of the canyon. On Thursday, I left the head of the canyon at noon, and spent about 6 hours driving home.

Day 2 - Sequoia Third Stop - Montecito-Sequoia Lodge	This is a small man made lake right by Montecito-Sequoia Lodge. The lodge itself is fairly small and low key, with small cabins near it.

Day 2 - Sequoia - Lodgepole Visitor Center and Kaweah River Trail	I parked at the Lodgepole Visitor Center and did a short hike up the Kaweah River Trail. Just before the trail head, I saw a bear cub race across the parking lot, but did not get a picture.

Day 2 - Into King's Canyon	I left Giant Grove and headed back north. After about 40 miles of back-tracking I got to General Grant Village and had dinner. After dinner I left Sequoia and entered King's Canyon. This is the beginning of the drop into the canyon. I started out at about 6500 feet and got down to 3000 when I finally reached the river.

Day 2 - Into King's Canyon	The drive from dinner at General Grant Village to the lodge at the head of the canyon will be another 20 miles and it will be around 8 PM by the time I get there.
